Google is notorious for dropping or eliminating apps that we are used to for a while. The new app in the list is Hangouts.
If you are used to chatting via Hangouts, then you will be slightly disappointed to find out Hangouts is gone now.
As an alternate, Google has introduced Google Chat app.
